Cáceres Florestal is a forestry and industrial enterprise that works exclusively from its own teak plantations, specially managed for a 30-year rotation.
The plantations were begun in 1971 and clear-cut occurred for the first time in 2001. The cleared area then underwent mechanical and manual interventions to direct the teak seed germination along pre-set growing lines so as to yield a new harvest of equal or superior quality in the same area within a period of 30 years. The areas harvested in subsequent years have been similarly re-managed and are now showing a well-developed cover of seedlings, saplings and young teak trees, which bodes well for good future harvests.
